What is a Waking Watch?
Waking Watches provide an interim fire safety measure, providing 24-hour patrol of buildings in search of signs of fire, with the goal to provide sufficient warning if a fire is identified. They are a requirement in buildings where dangerous cladding has been found and the ‘stay put’ evacuation policy has been changed to simultaneous evacuation.
Whilst a cladding replacement plan is underway, this uncertain timeframe leaves occupants, building owners, and property management companies burdened with ongoing expenses and continuous concern related to the temporary fire safety measure of Waking Watches.
